Atelier Dyakova is a multi-disciplinary design studio based in London, founded by a Russian graphic designer, Sonya Dyakova (born 1975).

After studying in San Francisco, Sonya moved to London, working with Vince Frost and Kerr|Noble, before joining Phaidon Press in 2005, where she worked closely with Alan Fletcher. As a design director she was responsible for commissioning, art direction and design of books on contemporary and fine art, design, architecture and photography.

She has designed titles for iconic artists such as Nobuyoshi Araki, Boris Mikhailov and Carl Andre. Books like Story of Art, E.H. Gombrich (Pocket Edition) and Sculpture Today has brought her international recognition.

In 2011 Sonya was appointed as the art director of Frieze magazine and has been commissioned to re-design it. She has created a new magazine for Frieze Masters in 2012.

Specialising in typography, magazine and book design, she creates bespoke typefaces, such as Paper Alphabet. Her approach is strongly rooted in conceptual and tactile details, as well as typographic experimentation developed through research.

Sonya's work has been awarded by the Art Directors Club, Type Directors Club in New York, AIGA and nominated by D&AD. In 2011 she received Grand Prix from the Tokyo Type Directors Club for the art book Creamier.
