I decided to create an ink illustration as this is a medium I enjoy using, and it creates a nice quality to the drawing: a little offbeat, a little imperfect. I enjoy drawing in a style similar to mid century graphic design, and felt that this style of illustration suited screen printing because it's simple and involves more blocky colours. As it's not world's most popular song, I wanted to produce something quite literal, and so I drew a sad looking woman at a desk to represent 'My Maudlin Career'. My creativity astounds me sometimes.
I tried to draw the woman that I feel would appeal to their more indie audience, and was inspired by one of the Camera Obscura members.
