I knew that I wanted to use a serif typeface for the cover and most of the text within the book, as I feel it relates to my practice throughout the year, as well as relating to typefaces used within art and design publications such as these. I was also inspired by the cover for Fully Booked which was bold and impactful. It also communicated the high quality of the publication.
I have therefore experimented with several different serif typeface choices, before I decided on Freya which seemed a little more subtle than the other typefaces I looked at. The kerning and overall appearance of the typeface seemed of a higher quality than the other typefaces also.
